“The Mission found the Sultan of Tringano in the last stage of consumption and learnt that His Highness intended to bequeath his Crown to a younger Son, in preference to the Elder (Tunku Daud), who was described as a bold turbulent character, addicted to piracy, and who was certainly of a most unprepossessing appearance. The Sultan is since dead, and his brother the Rajah Muda has assumed the Government, setting aside the pretensions of both his nephews.”

“By a prahu, which arrived a few days ago from this place, we are informed that the King of Siam had sent two armed junks with a deputation to the Rajah of Tringanu (Sultan Ahmad Shah I) for the purpose of suppressing piracy, &c. It appears that a notorious pirate named Tunku Omar, who is a relation of the Rajah of Tringanu, has lately been committing depredations (attacking or plundering) on some of the traders of Siam, and the commanders of the war junks had received orders to insist upon his apprehension, and, in case of the Rajah's refusing to become bail for his future good behaviour, he is to be conveyed to Bankok to be imprisoned for life. The Siamese appear to entertain some suspicions of the fidelity of the Tringanu state, as the mandate of his majesty requires of the raja to commission some person of rank to repair to the royal city of Bankok with the Boonga mas, a sprig of gold, which is the token of submission, and acknowledgment of her being a tributary of Siam.—Sing. Satu bukti penguasaan orang melayu dalam ilmu pelayaran masih tidak bisa ditandingi oleh Siam dan Eropah. Tindakan pelanunan menjadi satu ancaman kepada kapal-kapal dagang dan amat di takuti di perairan pantai timur semenanjung.

Menjadi satu teka –teki laporan siapa yang lebih tepat ataupun sebaliknya?
